So I arrived in Amsterdam this morning after a decent flight from Chicago. I sat with two Indians, brother and sister on their way back to India. Ravi is getting married to someone he doesn't really know and his sister Shanti is excited to go home after being away for three years.
The guy in front of me was so huge that when he reclined back I felt like he was trying to give me a lapdance. Thank God I took Benadryl and had a glass of wine. Not to mention my Ipod. I slept enough to be able to kick with Brett and his mom.
It was so great to see Brett after seven years! He looks great. He brought his mom along and we had nice conversation. I met her once almost twelve years ago, she is fun to chat with.
So I'm pleased to say, I was able to remember some good times with Brett and try some news things too. I got into two arguments with two different people. Tried taking a canal tour teice, but asked for my money back. I had a goat cheese sandwich on this yummy roll, stopped at a coffeeshop...errr., and had my first Indonesian meal.
I was sad to say good-bye, but I am contemplating a trip to the South of France to join them on their summer holiday next year. I'll look for tickets when I return.
I met a nice group of people on the train back to the airport. They're from Liverpool celebrating a birthday in Amsterdam. I'm now online deciding if I should have a coffee so I can be wired up for tonight, wait until I get to Berlin or drink water. If I remember, I'll let you know next time I write.
