Day 2 I guess
Hello everyone! This morning I got 2 hours of sleep! When I woke up it was to the sound of kids running everywhere trying to get there stuff together. When I went downstairs I met Manon. She asked if I had breakfast and I said no. So she led me to a table with bags of bread and a variety of jellies. Also Iceland's version of Nutella. So I fixed my self a sandwich. Then I went into the other room where monon told me to make 4 or 5 sandwiches and I asked why? And she said that we were going on a 14 hour bus ride. 14 HOURS! Anyways I made the sandwiches and put them in my bag. After I did that I met everyone. Everyone seems so friendly! There are two boys from Maine so I'm not the only one from the U.S. So far today we've seen the terrain of the country as well as the ocean and water falls. The terrain is a pretty ugly type of color. It's just rocks with a layer of green shrubs over top. It's pretty ugly.... But it was made out of a volcano so what do you expect! The land also reminds me of all the movies Jurassic park, because there will be rocky green land then a huge flat green surface where it looks like dinosaurs use to live. It's pretty cool, because you also have the snow covered hills in the background with a layer of clouds over top. Next is the ocean. Throughout the land there have been little canals. On one side of the rode. It's very interesting because it looks the same as it probably would of looked like before the human population got here. Again I can image dinosaurs rooming around here. Then the water falls. The "God falls " as they call it. It's massive! The size of it it's not like tall it's.... Muscular. That's the word muscular. It's a really thick waterfall. Oh I forgot to mention we climbed a volcano and the views were amazing as well as the wind. You could lean over the edge of the volcano and you wouldn't fall because of the wind that's how strong it was . right now we are still making our way to the camp. We're all super tired. So I'll write more later. Oh! I also saw an old looking well use to be house made iit of stone. The base of the house however. After that we drove and drove saw two more waterfalls which are from the glaciers, then saw some like black bubbling water which was really cool. Then finally we made it to the camp site after 14 hours! Everyone is tired so most of them went to bed. Our camp house is right on the ocean and it's really pretty. The back yard looks over the water and the mountains in the background. The population in the town is 128.... So it's pretty lonely.

Meg I love how you described the waterfall as "muscular"! Very descriptive. I can't wait to read more about the little town you are staying in.
