Today we landed in Delhi. After a flight in which all passengers had to be sprayed with disease killer - Literally like a sci-fi horror movie - we weren't expecting to step out in to the cleanest of places. Dehli is bedlam. We managed to find our small indian friend waiting to take us to the hostel amongst what seemed like the 'Delhi cab drivers convention'. He lead us to the car, past stray dogs and a naked Indian man washing himself with a tin of mud water. In India the way to cross the road seems to be to step out and wave your hands in an assertive manner until someone stops. To which the drivers respond by beebing loudly and speeding up towards you. Indian road law seems to be that so long as you beep loudly you may do whatever you please.
After definitey the most terriffying drive of our lives we finally arrived at the luxurious SMYLE INN! We cannot describe the joy we felt to opening our room and finding a turd in our toilet. Delicious. However, all was not lost because our day got better as the school children threw peanuts at us!
After sitting, crying and wondering what an earth we had done by coming here we decided there was only one solution. Curry. We only made it to the end of our main bazaar before we got pelted with more peanuts. I tell you now these kids have a seriously good aim. So we instead went to our lovely 'rooftop terrace cafe' which had some lovely views of the local jeans factory. We decided to go for a mixed veg in mild gravy although even this was too spicy for Hayley. All this and a bottle of coke for 2.20gbp (no pound sign out here yet).
Wish us luck as we attempt to take on Delhi once more. The other backpackers here seem to be hippy dressed, dreadlock clad folk that intimidate us far too much to approach.
Over and Out. Big love. As they say in Delhi, Phir mileynge!

David Driscoll I'm sure the other back packers will be fine, maybe collect the peanuts to put in the curry to make it a bit less spicy, much love mate xxxxx
