FYI everyone I'm moving to Spain. Okay not really but that's how much I loved it. A major plus was that the prices of everything were way cheaper than Paris (aka lots of shopping and eating!) Plus it was so warm we didn't have to wear a coat or anything. (Today in Paris it's currently 46 degrees - burr). The beach was gorgeous. We found some beach chairs just sitting out so we decided to take a few and enjoy the ocean and the sun when this man came by and asked us for 5 euro for each chair that we were using. We quickly got up and walked away before having to pay. Crazy. Also, I was horrified to see that Barcelona has a Subway, Burger King, and, get this, a Kentucky Fried Chicken. We went to the Picasso museum but sadly weren't aloud to take pictures. Even without a flash. We found the chocolate museum by accident and got really excited before we found out you don't actually get to eat any chocolate...so not worth it then. We walked around this huge garden which was great and also saw Barcelona's version of the Arch de Triomphe which is here in Paris. We saw a lot of Gaudi architecture which was very cool. I had tapas for the first time which was glorious. It was our last meal in Barcelona and thought we would pretend that the desserts should be ordered like tapas as well and ordered 4..it was so worth it :-) Along the main shopping road, Las Ramblas, there are a bunch of people who are dressed up and painted and pretend to be statues. The coolest/creepiest person we saw was a guy dressed up like Edward Scissorhands. I was scared he was going to start chasing us so my pictures aren't that great of him...I had a really fun weekend and basically any country that has a designated time to nap is the best country in my book.
