Well here's the view from my room. A tourist mecca if you like... well yer im not sure. Little bit crowded and smoggy today. Jixian is our base for 2 nights for the run. By staying here it means only a 1 hour drive to the race start instead of 2 1/2hrs. Today I went on a tour of the Qing tombs. Was a good but long day. Worst of all my calfs are tight and sore from the WALK on the wall yesterday. I'm not expecting great things tomorrow. However I am bringing some money on the run as there's some locals selling beers on the wall. So worse case ill park up a have a beer. The run starts with a 5km hill climb then 3.5km along the wall then it's 25km through 3 local villages before doing the wall again this time in reverse. To finish its a 5km run down the hill.then cue collapse and screaming.
I've meet some good people today. Heaps of first time marathon runners. That is very brave! It's the United Nations here too which is neat to chat to people from all over the world. Everyone has the same goal, to finish!
Well that's me of for the Chinese version of a pasta dinner.... Noodles.
My race Start time is 7.30am in the 1st wave of runners which is 11.30 nz time. i should be done around 5pm nz time. Hopefully my next post will be from Beijing and the language will be acceptable.
Can't wait!!!!!!!
