Woke up around 10am this morning to our Taiwan roomies vacuuming. They're a little too tidy. Matt was on the phone with his mom around 10:30am when the room started to shake. He asked if I thought it was an earthquake and I said, no I don't think so. Went over to the window to have a look outside, everything looked calm. We figured the laundry must be below us and it was on spin cycle. The shaking stopped about 20 seconds later and I headed downstairs to take a shower. On my way down I met the owner who was running up the stairs asking if we were OK. Apparently it was the 4th of 5th earthquake in the last 8 hours and registered 6.2. After he said that I remembered waking up in the middle of the night when our bed was shaking. Matt and I looked at each other, he asked me if it was an earthquake. I said no and we immediately went back to sleep. That one was a 6.8. So I guess we are pretty good sleepers. Other than that, not a very exciting day. It was the first time on our whole trip that it rained all day long. We made chicken, lasagne, and enchilladas at the hostel and then went and played on the internet. Later on we went shopping again and made a big chicken, potato and asparagus dinner. Most we just ate all day. It was good.
Later that night just before bed, our female roomie from Taiwan asked us where her boyfriend went. He had left a few minutes earlier and we thought maybe he went down to the TV lounge. They hadn't really talked much and we weren't sure if they spoke Engligh up until then. All of a sudden she started telling us how he always wanders off and she thinks maybe he is an alien and lives with Elliott and ET. We learned two things that night. Our roomates were potentially aliens and they did in fact speak English.
