Kia-ora! We arrived in New Zealand early evening and in time to meet Jenny, Alex and Beth for pizza and catch ups, it was great. The next day we started our search for a campervan. We went to the renoundly pricey backpacker market but everything seemed reasonably priced. We found two possibilties but we held on a day as we weren't in a hurry and the price may go down.
We went back the next day only to find out one of them had sold so we set our sights on the other. To the owners disadvantage they let slip that they were leaving the country the next day and had to sell. So after an inspection and some haggling we got them down to just over 1/2 price and purchased 'Annie' our very own campervan.
After a couple of new tyres and a service we set off up north to the Bay of Islands. We arrived last night and got acquainted with Annie's sleeping arrangements for the first time. After a good nights sleep we were up early to do Mack Attack (fastest boat in the bay). It took us around the Bay of Islands where we went through the 'Hole in The Rock', saw Cathedral Cave and Cape Brett Lighthouse. Flying over 4 metre waves was so much fun although the woman behind was sick!
