Bula!!!!
Well this will be a long one as we have a few weeks to cover.
Our Fiji trip got off to a rocky start with Quantas cancelling our flight and not telling us and then us being booked on the wrong trip when we arived in Fiji but it all worked out sweet in the end and we got the boat out to the far end of the Yawasa islands to a place called Coral View. The boat was really nice going past all the islands that were just so beautiful and not realising how hot it was and four hours later I was scorchedand to add to it matt hadbeen resting his hand on my leg so i had a bright red shin with a white hand print on it attractive!!!
Coral View was a nice resort the snorkelling was pretty good and we went scuba diving there it was a beautiful soft coral dive lots of colours and schools of fish very relaxing. some of the corlas changed colour when you tapped them which i thought was cool. After lunch we hired a kayak and decided to take a nice relaxing kayak over to the other island to snorkel there. to use the word relaxing was wrong it was bloody hard in the heat and i wimped out and matt had to get us there and back some girl who went had to get toed back by a guide so it wasnt just me being weak and pathetic but i think that might have contributed to it! The snorkelling was good though so it was all worth it.
The next day we chilled out in the morning and then headed to another island called Korovou. before we left for the island i managed to fall out ofmy hammock with all the grace of a baby hippo and i though matt was going to wet himself he was laughing that much. Korovou was a really beautiful island and a little more resorty, it had a pool and another beach called honeymoon beach that you could visit for a dollar each and it was like a dream beach. there were areallynice load of people on the island too Mark and Nicola from England, Rob and Pete from Oz and their two girlfriend who were Canadian we all had a good laugh and a few beers while the sun went dow. The highlight of this island though were the pool challenges e.g. how far can you swim on one breath and the push yourself to the otherside of the pool in one breath which took matt six hours to achieve! Good times.
Next stop was the liveaboard boat called the Wana Taki, this was ok but the best two things were the air conditioned not insect infested room and the fact we met our soon to be stalked mates Angelene and Ryan from the US. We only soent one night here we did a quiz and had a hermit crab race mine was rubbish but matts (called Rafa) came second it was all a lot more exciting than it sounds i promise.
Manta ray island was the next stop we had a reall y nice beach hut and the snorkelling was the best we have ever done there were so many different types of fish and so many you woud be swimming though hundreds of fish it was just like finding nemo! the food was really good too. that night we ended up playing drinking games with a big group of english people, three lads from the Army and a group of girls from reading it was a really good laugh and the first time we had been drunk the whole trip. It started with a sign drinking game then proceeded onto limbo and finally the box game where you have to pick a box up with your teeth and it gets smaller every time Matt was freakishly good at this game and got to the final very flexible must be all the lunging!! Next day we woke up with a severe hangover and i was happy to lie in my own sorrow but matt got me snorkelling and then we both felt fine, it absolutely poured in the day so we just chilled in the sea it was a refreshing change from sweating out every drop of bodily fluid! That night it was the worst moment of the trip for me so far I was on the loo minding my own buisness when i felt something land on my back when i went to grab it it crawled into my hair i had to grab it out and throw it on the floor it was onr of the biggest hairiest spiders i have ever seen and anyone who knows me will know how much i hate them i ran out of the loo pants and shorts round my ankles screaming matt being the hero he is just stood at the bottom of the stairs and looked at me he thought i just ate something dodgy!!!! AAAAHHHHHH
Kuata was teh next stop and it was here we were reunited with Angelene and Ryan we just chilled out here sunbathing, playing cards and swimming for two days. it was a really nice island and then held a Fiji night forus where they dressed up and performed dances and fire dancing then we went to a Cava ceremony which is that traditional drink of Fiji. It looks and tastes a bit like dirty dishwater and i only had two but Matt and Ryan hearing that it had some kind of hallucenagenic properties went for it and Matt had 17 bowls, paid for that bad boy the next day!
The next day was Christmas eve and we left Kuata and headed for Beachcomber with Ryan and Angelene. Beachcomber is known as the party island so we were up for a good time. We all started by having jugs of beer and it all went downhill from there and we all ended up on the dance floor busting some movesit was great. then me and matt went back to the room opened our cards and presents and it felt a little more like christmas. Christmas day was weird waking up in the sun we didnt make breakfast as we had drank too much on Christmas Eve but lunch was good and then after we had sunbathed we watched them uncover our dinner which had been cooked in the traditional Lovo style which is when they bury it underground and it cooks. it was very nice nowhere near as good as a tradional one so both mums better get those one go when we get home, we want crackers and the whole shabang!
Boxing day meant our island trip was over and we headed back to the mainland where we just tried to kill some time before flying to LA.
USA here we come
