Hello everyone!
So...it has been a while since our last blog, sorry about that - we intend to update every time we get on the internet, but Matt gets distracted by BBC Sport and eats up all our credit!
We're in Sydney at the minute, we arrived here last night and headed straight for the opera house and harbour bridge. We spent quite a while there, mainly just figuring out how to take pictures of the bloody things with our camera because it was so dark!
We're really enjoying Oz so far, we spent a few days in Melbourne seeing the sights and even squeezed in an aussie rules football match at the MCG, we're now keen Carlton supporters! We've been on another road trip too, we hired a car and drove down the scenic 'great ocean road' and then onto Phillip Island which is a national park full of Australian wildlife -we've seen countless numbers of koalas and wallabies and even had a run in with a kangaroo on the road!
As for NZ - to be honest its still all a bit of a blur! We did the 'Kiwi Experience' which is basically a bus tour that took all around the north and south islands, as we only had two and half weeks there it meant that we were only in most places for one night and constantly on the go! It was a lot of fun though, we had great people on the bus with us and brilliant drivers who constantly acted like big kids!
We did lots of fun stuff whilst we were there, you've all probably seen the photos of Matts MASSIVE bungy jump, there is a dvd as well which I'm sure he'll be keen to show anybody who wants to see it when he gets home. He absolutely loved it! I did a canyon swing, and also got the dvd (under threat from Matt who finds it hilarious) but wont be showing anybody as to say I got a little bit scared is just a bit of an understatement! My adrenaline pumping activities are well and truly over!
There were loads of other activities we did in NZ too, highlights were definitely white water rafting (thankfully we didn't fall out of the boat!), black water rafting (basically this is just sitting in an inflatable ring and going through caves looking at glow worms and jumping down water falls!) and kayaking.
We did also take in some of NZ's 'natural beauty' with trips to Milford Sound (though we couldn't actually see anything because of the awful weather) and hiking 'Mount Doom'. We did try to hike a glacier in Franz Josef but unfortunately only made it halfway up due to horrendous rain. In fact, it didn't stop raining, and I mean throwing it down, for about five days. The rain was so torrential that it somehow managed to seep through my bag and soak my phone, breaking it! I've now got a fancy new Samsung brick though :)
Hope that didn't bore you all too much. We'll try and update a bit sooner next time!
Hope everyone is doing ok at home!
