Andy and Matt's Great Escape.
Hey Team,
All is well here in chilly New York, and we're certainly looking forward to warmer weather. I'm writing to you from a computer store downtown. The shops here are brilliant because you can try almost everything without having to pay a thing. From listening to any song you could imagine to hoops in the Basketball store we've wasted many an hour. Thanks Abi for the tip on Toys R Us, we certainly made the most of the free games.
Our latest adventure was our trip to the top of the Empire State Building, very spectacular views across New York in the evening. We took the Staten Island Ferry to get up close to the Statue of Liberty and look back at the skyscrappers of Manhatten, and also made a trip to Ground Zero which was a particularly strange experience.
Our hostel is ok but we hoping for better in the future, where we are now is full of misfits (in a nice way), which in someways makes us misfits for not being misfits, and therefore you'd think we'd fit in just fine but of course no-one fits in cos we're all misfits. My point is that conversation, if any, is a bit awkward. The only real nice people we met were in another hostel we stayed in earlier in the week, a couple of Canadian guys.
Going to leave it there now because the American guy opposite me is really starting to bug me and I think I know more about him than his mother, I even know where his dentist is, and his of choice.
Thanks for all the messages we enjoy reading them.
Andy (and Matt)
