Hello from beautiful Bali !!!!!!!!!!!!!! After a cheeky little 3 hour flight from Perth, i arrived in Bali safe and sound, raring to get stuck into some cheap cheap CHEAP amazing balinese food. and get stuck in i did, had 3 meals even before i checked into the hotel! got back to the hotel, checked in, relaxed, squated and few mozzies,and then it really sunk in, im back in Asia!!! i met a guy on the perth airport shuttle bus from sicily in italy, and we are pretty much doing the same thing. coming to bali, watching the world cup and surfing every day. so we got a cool hotel for the first night, only 45000rp each, which is about 3quid. comes with swimming pool, breakfast, en suite, the lot. happy days. but my budget is gona be about 10quid a day max, so 3 quid is a fair bit, and Enzo is in the same position, so after 2nights there, we are now in a really cool little temple place, and paying only 22000 and night, about 1pound 50... get breakfast too. its much nearer the beach aswell so pretty chuffed we found it! first night was spent walking aimlessly around, something i do very well. had the amazing food and ended up watching football somewhere. in the morning we got up had the egg on toast and fruit salad breaky, and hit the beach! enzo has a board which is a right result as i dont need to rent one. its a 7" which is perfect for me. the waves are seriously unbelievable. best surfing beach ive ever seen and may ever see, one end there are slightly easier waves, and the rest of it are world class barrelling beasts! so cool watching the locals and the surfers here, when you are out in the water right next to them. it does get pretty busy in the surf at times, right up til sunset, so a lot of the time when i get onto a wave, i got twist and turn to dodge other surfers as i get taken in, but its a rush i am really starting to fall in love with and want to try and continue and persue further. in australia i had pretty much got the long board (7 and a half foot+) sorted, and the 7" was initially a good challenge. but the waves being as they are, its makes it so much easier to improve, as its literally perfect wave after perfect wave! some of them are huuuuge though and ive got a serious beating a few times.. apart from the surfing here in bali, we've been playing a lot of beach footy of course, sunbathing alot, and just generally exploring around. i have a moped out which helps to get around, its only 20000 a day, just over a pound, so why not! life couldnt be much better right now!!! im absolutely skint, but here, it doesnt matter!! will definately be returning back to asia again for sure. tan is going pretty well, been here 2 days, and probably spent about 5 hours in the surf both days.. sun is really hot here, and its really humid, bout 30C every day without fail and glorious blue skies. the beach 100m away is a gorgeous sandy plam fringed curving beach, and at every 15m there are a few surfboards standing up, ready for rent, and between them, more palms and few locals selling water and ice cream. off the beach, you could be anywhere in asia, lots of very narrow streets with stalls and shops selling bracelets and sarongs etc, and hundreds of restaurants and guesthouses, and at wither end, a few pimping hotels for about 300bucks a night. pretty happy with my temple place though(pictures will show you what i mean, have been using enzos camera so can add them next week sometime), yeh my temple place is cool, its nice and shady so its kept cooler, and some old bloke in a towel is always playing some weird little guitar and bonogs all day long, really peaceful stuff. pretty much paradise right now!! gona have a few more days of surfing in kuta, and barlife at night, then gona pack up and go to the east side of the island, where im gona live in a beachside hut and do nothing til friday, when ill get back to Kuta and watch the world cup in the nightclubs here. so thats it for now, so for making people rrreally jealous.. hopefully you can all come out here one day!! gota be done!!! ps ritch, the beer (650ml) is 11000rp....70p.... happy days.. off now for dinner and an inhouse movie (gona look around for da vince code), few beers, then earlyish night, ready for another day on the beach tomorrow...
