So, after leaving Zanzibar, we headed back to Uganda. Our route took us back through Dar Es Salaam, then up to Arusha (home of KIlimanjaro), across to Nairobi and then home to Kampala. In Arusha we went to a clothes market where you could buy tops for the equivalent of 3p! Especially funny as someone bought a Ralph Laurent Polo that one of the boys said he had at home for 55pounds!!! The market was filled with around 50% Masai men and women. They were all dresses in their traditional blankets with an abundance of crazy jewellery and ear lobes stretching down to their knees. And all with horrific rotting teeth to mathc! In nairobi we spent a day at Central Park. This had a pond where you could go peddle boating and there was also a bunch of white skate boarders filming a video there. Not exactly how I would have imagined a day in Nairobi to be!
Our trip back into Uganda still didn't go quite as smoothly as we'd have liked. We crossed over the border at Busia where we had to get our passports stamped and purchase new Ugandan visas. As we had caught the night bus, this meant it all took place at around 4am in the morning in the dark and cold =(So, the bus it started to move off, when we realised 2 of us - Rosie and Kez- were missing. We shouted at the driver to sotp, but he just happily sped off into the night. The next thing we knew the conductor was accepting money from a Ugandan man who had just bought their seats!! Aaaah. Luckily, 4 hours later after waiting for an anxious few minutes at the bus station, they turned up on the next bus! Phew...
