Mary's Travels
We woke up at 9am for our last full day of camping. We cooked a large breakfast of cheesy hash browns and bacon, and topped it off with s'mores. We all got henna tattoos and changed into our swimsuits and headed down for the beach and a parade that was taking place there. We ended up not going to the parade and instead chilling at a dock, although we could hear it from our dock. We played around with Sara's underwater camera, even though the water was so cold and it was so windy. We dried off and tanned, and surprisingly we got tan lines. We walked back after a couple hours and got the famous ice cream of the town. I got rolo ice cream and blackberry cheesecake ice cream. It was sooo good. We went to a few shops and then went back to the dock. We swam some more but then storms rolled in. We swam in the rain some before coming in. We went back to the campsite extra wet and then decided to go to the bowling greens because our yoga instructor from yesterday owns a little cottage there and sells good drinks. We got hot chocolate, chai tea, and lattes- perfect drinks on a cold rainy day. We stayed in the cottage and finished our drinks, then we walked back to the tent and cooked hamburger helper. It was good and warm. Then we went to the beach to check out some paddleboards. We had some difficulties with payment methods, but we finally got three paddleboards for one hour. The other three people waited on a nearby dock and we switched out and eventually everyone was in the water and riding on each other's boards. After we returned the boards, we went on a moose hunt, but came back with zero sightings. We came back and took showers and ate some of the extra food. We decided to not wake up early for French church, and we'll just enjoy the lake tomorrow and then go to church in the city later. We are hoping to wake up early to catch the sunrise on the beach, so we'll see how this goes...
