Hi All

We have visited the Kauri Museum at Matakohe, a fascinating afternoon, giving the history of the logging industry and the uses of the famous Kauri trees.

We travelled on to Rotorua, where we had two fantastic days. Day one was the gondola up the mountain and the luge run down, followed by a trip to the Thermal Village to see the geysers.

Day 2 was an 8 mile walk in the Redwood Forest, followed by a 2 hour session in the Polynesian Spa to relax those tired muscles and then a delicious dinner in Rotorua.

We journeyed on and stayed overnight at Okahune, with the view you see above of the snow covered mountain. Along the way we stopped at Orakei Korako, a geothermal valley. This was where some of the film 'Walking with Dinosaurs' was filmed. The temperature soared to 34 degrees, but it was an enjoyable trip.

Today we have travelled on to Wellington. We stopped at Huntsville where we found a really good coffee shop, and again at Foxton by the sea for lunch. (To eat the goodies bought at the coffee shop!!).
