Yesterday I took the flight from JFK to Cincinnati. I had booked the Supershuttle and it worked well being picked up from West End Avenue and arriving at the terminal in good time. I had my first experience of the new airport scanners. You had to take everything out of your pockets including tissues and any paper and put your hands up! I passed!!
I found some gluten free food for lunch but then had to wait quite long as the flight was delayed. We took off almost two hours late but arrived around an hour late. I failed to get a free ride with the tournament transport so took the minibus to the hotel. A german lady also took it and was from Proctor & Gamble. Eventually arrived at Kings Island resort and after dropping my bags went to the bar for a pizza and local pale ale supper!
In the morning stocked up on supplies at the local garage shop. Took the shuttle bus to the tennis where I collected my tickets and bought a day session ticket.
Had a great day on the Grandstand court having found a shaded area on the centre service line - perfect! In the evening first saw James Blake doing well and then went on centre to see Sharapova win and then Federer and Del Potro. Good match but just missed the shuttle bus. Then it was a complete fiasco as the car park emptied before the bus returned more than an hour later - what a waste of time!
