Saturday evening and everyone was at the Bund, the old colonial waterfront on the Huangpu river. The skyscrapers in the photos are in the Lujiazui district, with three of the world's tallest skyscrapers close together near the iconic Shanghai Pearl TV mast.
We went on the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel to the opposite side where the futuristic buildings are used as film sets. The ride itself was....odd!
We ate dumplings at Din Tai Fung in the Shanghai World Finance Centre, then went up the International Finance Centre tower, to the 58th floor Flair Bar with fantastic views over the river, the Bund on the opposite bank and the lights of Shanghai's shopping areas. We ended up in the Ritz piano bar for Mojitos (Pete and Ros) and coffee for the boring oldies.
Most impressive thing today was the taxi back from outside the Ritz. The taxi queue wasn't moving so Pete rang his company's driver and we left in style.
