Hola! Well, I'm now back in Cuzco but am leaving in a few hours to catch a plane to Arequipa. Its pretty much a day here and a day there now so may not have chance to update you all again...we will see! Got back from my 4 day Inca Trail trek last night. It was absolutely amazing!! I have uploaded some photos but I'm not sure that they do it justice! We had 2 days of hard trekking on Sunday and Monday, maybe walking for 6 or 7 hours a day, the 3rd day we walked for 4 hours in the morning and reached our campsite in time to chill out and have a celebratory beer before the sun went down! the fourth day I was awake at 3:30am ready to begin our final leg of the trek into Macchu Pichu itself! It was an hours trek to the sun gate where I saw my first glimpse of MP and another hour or so to get there. We were there in time to see the sun rise over MP which was fab...the kind of images you see in travel brochures and postcards! Had a guided tour of MP and then exhaustion took over! Got the train back to Cuzco and crashed out! It doesn't sound that fantastic reading over what I've just written but I either give you the brief version or I'll be here all night telling you every step of the way, which I would really love to do as there is soooo much to tell but this would probably bore you too much!! All you need to know was that it was absolutely amazing and I encourage everyone to do it!! Hope all is well with everyone! Ciao ciao x
