Buenos Noches amigos! So thats almost the extent of my Spanish but I am trying to learn...really need to as no-one speaks English! I did manage to order a bottle of diet coke in Spanish today which I was really proud of...little steps and all that! So here I am...I made it to La Paz..yay!! Not meeting up with my group until tomorrow so I've had 2 days to mess around! I did consider locking myself in my room for 2 days but then thats no fun so I've braved the outside world and its actually quite fun! Thought I might be more bothered than I am about being on my own but its actually been fine! I have started talking to myself though which is slightly worrying after only a couple of days! Everyone else in my hotel seems to be part of a group already so I'm looking forward to being part of a group tomorrow! So really I've just been pottering around the city getting my bearings and trying to get used to the altitude..not easy as they say you should take it easy for the first few days but everywhere I want to go I have to walk up Everest sized mountains...well maybe not quite but thats what it feels like for my lungs! I found souvenier alley today...bring it on! I bought a hand woven cloth thing that I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do with other than show people when I get back! Didn't have the guts to haggle yet as basic communication is hard enough but I think the stall owner must have took pity so she just took some money off anyway...mmm..may go back there again! Also found the Witches Market...lots of stalls selling potions and lotions, spells and offerings..for real! They also sell llama 'bits' which aparantly are supposed to be good luck..not for the llama though! So, I'll leave it at that for now as I haven't really done much yet and don't want to bore you all with waffle...o oh..maybe too late! I wanted to at least put one entry onto this thing seeing as I took the time to set it up..mission accomplished so I'm off to bed! Hasta Luego..so clever! x
