We move on from the bush camp heading towards Nemrut Dagi National park. After a quick shop locally we stopped off at the Roman bridge for a couple of hours to eat lunch and prepare the evening meal, boy was it hot here!
We moved deeper into the mountains on a slow journey through very narrow, steep and twisty roads, discovering snow still on the mountains as we got higher.
We arrived at Nemrut Dagi about 5.30 which gave us all time to eat before going up to the top (2150 metres) to look at the strange statues and play in the snow and watch the sun set. We got down to the campsite to settle for a tea, when Jackie realised that she had left her water bottle at the top, Martin volunteered to climb in the dark to rescue it.
The braver of us had decided to pitch our tents despite the area being known as one of the windiest campsites and hardest of grounds ( it was also not the most level), the rest slept in the truck and one even braved the top in just his sleeping bag, ready for the sunrise celebrations.
