After a great night sleep we got up amd were on the road by 8:30am. Our destination was Musgrave Roadhouse to hopefully catch up with Dale, Kerry and Mick.
I decided that l wanted to have a drive for once. The road was diverse to drive with the conditions changing all the time. It would be sandy one minute then small corrogation and then have deep holes and rocks around. I did say to Marty that l would love to have a heart monitor on to see how it rises and drops pending the conditions!!! Marty cringed all the way and l knew he was packing his dacks a few times and wanted to get behind the wheel. About an hour into the drive we heard Julia on the UHF radio so pulled in a bit off the road to where they'd set up camp on a river. Was great to see them quickly and exchange contact details, will call in to see them over in WA for a beer we reckon. Awesome family!!!!
Marty took over the driving for the rest of the way. We called thru 'Kalpowar', then 'Lakefield' before stopping at Hann River for lunch. Was cool to watch all these trucks cross the river, got a few pics. We headed across the Hann River which was pretty shallow and eventually got to Musgrave Roadhouse by 1:30pm. Dale and Kerry had left a note at reception for us to say they had found Mick and Jeremy in Coen and had headed there last night. We decided to still stay the night at the roadhouse, cost us $20 all up.
We set up the awning off the Nissan, decided this was easier than setting tent up for one night. Had a much wanted shower, the water was brown for a bit!!! Lol. Was glad to feel clean and fresh. Had a BBQ for tea and settled early for the night.
The sun has a bit of kick in it now, seeing don't have reception we are taking the temp off the fridge thermometer which is reading 35oC. Still great to be camping, everyone enjoying the great outdoors. Seeing heaps of wildlife from baby emu's, joey's, goannas, dingo's, kingfisher's and cattle with big horns!!! Awesome experience so far and there's still heaps more to see!!!
