When I finally got in my hostel, named Asylum Sydney, it was actually not really what I expected. The place was pretty dirty and all the roommates had all their stuff just lying on the ground. However everybody in the hostel was very social and I ended up staying there for 5 nights instead of just 2. The hostel was located in Kings Cross. This is the most dirty district in the city where all the bars and backpackers are gathered. It is not very rare to find a drunk wanderer at 11 am over there.
The first day I did a walk through the Royal botanic garden to the Opera house, the government house, circular quay and the Harbour bridge. It was truly beautiful! On the way I relaxed in the botanic garden and visited the Museum of Sydney.
The next day I went to Bondi beach with my 2 Swedish roommates, Mathilda and Katarina. After chilling on the beach I continued alone to do a track to Coogee beach. It was very nice!
The third day I decided to do some more trekking and started with walking from Kings Cross to the Darling Harbour. From there I walked back to Circular Quay and took the ferry to Manly beach. I did the walk from Manly beach to the Spit bridge. Estimated duration is 4.5 hours. This was a beautiful walk again! Through the forest I have been at hidden beaches and beautiful sceneries. I took the bus from the Spit bridge and drove over the Harbour bridge back to central Sydney. From there I walked back to Kings cross.
After these long days of trekking I took a day off to relax and update my photos, blog, facebook and so on. However in the afternoon I met a crazy Italian guy, Andraghetti and an American, Jonathan, from New York. Jonathan bought some jack-cokes at 4 pm and it ended up in a late night.
I already decided that I wanted to see the Blue Mountains on my last day and Jonathan joined me. The blue mountains are 2 hours from Sydney with the train and gives you beautiful sceneries of mountains, forests and waterfalls. We trekked there for 4 hours and we walked on too many stairs to count. It was an exhausting but rewarding walk and the best remedy against our hangovers. Sydney is definitely the most beautiful city I have seen in my life so far. The next day I flew at 9.15 am to New Zealand. I arrived in Auckland.
