We spent the first day on a tour of LA as we didn't have a clue where anything was or what there was in LA! Our first stop was Hollywood and we followed the walk of stars down to the Chinese theatre, where I stood in Donald Ducks feet and Martin in Arnold Schwarzenegger - we all know who's the coolest! Next on the bus for a tour starting with Marina del Rey; a large port with barely room to drive your boat around. Next Venice Beach aka muscle beach where we had lunch. It was hot and packed full as it was an American holiday - labour day! The beach was very hippyish with a man selling hugs for a dollar, next to one who would say your name wrong for a dollar and one who would catch a bug and eat it for a dollar! We regretted not taking the bug one up on his offer! Next to Santa Monica which if we had more time we would have gone back to as there was both a fairground and nice looking beach - where Bay Watch was filmed! Next onto a small Spanish area of LA - the oldest area with an equally old church and very Spanish European style buildings in light red brick! Onwards we travelled to Mullholland Drive and the Hollywood sign lookout among lots of famous peoples houses one we liked especially had an overhanging pool and looked very tasty in the hot weather! Afterwards a tour round Beverley Hills and the movie star houses including Simon Cowell, Christina Aguilera and Bruce Willis! The final stop was Rodeo Drive where we had a cup of tea in the hotel where Pretty Woman was filmed!
