Beachcomber (24.11.2011)
arrived at Beachcomber around 10 am and went straight to the beach after checking in. Went for my first Fiji swim and it is like swimming in a whirlpool. Guess water temp is around 28 degrees. NICE! In the afternoon I went on the free snorkel trip and it was really great. There were a lot of fish and the coralbank was also quite nice. In the evening the young people on the island enjoyed themselves. Well if I were 10 years younger I might have joined them but since I am 34 I prefered to take I night walk aroud the island and watch falling stars.
Long Beach Resort, Matacawalevu Island (25.-27.11.2011)
Had a great time in this resort since the staff and little Daniel was very nice and friendly. The food was good. I had some bad luck with the weather and could not lay in the hamock all day. I read my book and enjoyed not having either internet, phone or TV. It was great to just relax and doing nothing. On sunday I visited the mass in the village (20 min walk) which was interesting. I also had the chance to go on a kajak trip in the bay and see the fish from above.
Blue Lagoon Resort, Nacula Island (28.-30.11.2011)
For sure the best resort I visited. Great location, staff, food and beach. I did three dives with the resort dive shop and saw some relly nice coral and fish. On of the dives was actually a shark dive were the instructors feed the sharks. We saw around 25 sharks (white-tip, black-tip, lemon shark and big bullsharks). The two big bullsharks were around 4 meters long! Was very exciting. I also tried my luck fishing but the only one who caught a fish was our skipper. The 6 tourists had to go home without any luck. In the second evening I made a night-snorkel which was something different. We were 7 people snorkeling each with one big flashlight. But I do prefer snorkeling daytime:-).
Well Fiji was a really great time and I hope to come back some day. Now my journy will take me to Aspen, Colorado for some nice powder skiing.
