Hello people!
Just dropping by the blog to give ya'll a short update on our trip. We're still in Rio, and we are still at this fantastic hostel - Tupiniquim Hostel. We like it here so much that we already feel sad about leaving on monday. The staff is absolutely amazing, and the people staying here are all great people. The last three nights we've been lucky enough to watch and listen to great drum shows. There's a group of people from Uruguay staying here, and they play drums and dance for a living. They also make bracelets, and Ida has just recieved a custum made one in the brazilian colors. Nice =)
We've been up at the statue of Christ which has the best view ever. This city is really beautiful, and the best way to see it all, is from the statue. We have spent a day at Copacabana as well, and if the weather is better tomorrow (it's been raining today), we'll go to Ipanema beach and to the hippie market they have there. We're also planning a trip to the Sugarloaf tomorrow evening, to get a nightly view of the city.
Yesterday, after our visit to the Christ statue, we went to Copacabana for lunch. Strolling along the beach sidewalk, we stopped for a coffee at one of the shops. A guy came along and gave us a box to open. He showed us that it's possible to open it, and gave us a try. It seemed impossible, but after some time Marte managed to open the box! He did not believe his eyes, and told us that she was the first one to open it in the 6 months he had been in Rio. A sign of a good mind and intelligence from the Norwegian chick! =) That was a lot of fun =) His face expression was priceless. =p
Went out last night, after some beers and drinks at the hostel. One of the girls from the staff took us, and some other people, to a great bar in the city. Stayed there all night, and had a lot of fun! Can now say that we've been to a hell of a party in Rio de Janeiro! How cool is that? =)
Gotta go, it's saturday night, the hostel is crowded with cool people, and we don't wanna miss out on anything. =)
Love,
Marte and Ida
