Well we are now 2 nights into our stay in Dubai and it's great. Weather at midnight 34 degrees and during the day mid to high 40s and it's not even summer yet! Such a difference to UK and France lol.
We got up late this morning and after breakfast we headed to the Dubai Mall - one of the biggest shopping precincts in the world with a huge aquarium with sharks, stingrays and other large species,a full ice skating rink, flight simulator and many attractions to keep husbands busy while their wives buy jewellery and clothes.
After several hours we headed back to the hotel for an hour or so before setting off on our desert dune safari! Simply put this is brilliant! We were taken 4 wheel driving through the desert Dunes stopping at some photo spots then on to a traditional Bedouin camp for dinner. Ruth got a Henna tattoo we ate traditional foods and all in all was a fantastic experience. I think at the end of it all we brought half the desert back in our shoes! I'm sure the house maids will be impressed.
Tomorrow will be the last day here. No great plans at this stage - sleep in, pool, spa, pool, sports bar, pool and maybe a dip in the pool lol. Just going to take it easy before the trip homewards on Thursday. This really has been such a great holiday - one that 5 years ago we thought we would never be able to do together again! Miracles happen though and here we are! Not sure if I'll get the chance to do any more blogging - I will try tomorrow but no promises. Ruth and I are looking forward to seeing everyone and getting back to everyday life - though it's good to know that after our first week back at work there is the Queens Birthday long weekend - maybe needing that extra day off hahaha.
Finally - Ruth - you have made this holiday the best. I'm a lucky guy having you as my wife! Can't wait for our next adventure!!
