Hello mate, as the australians say, while Mark is cosy and cold at home in cornwall, uk, I am hot and busy in australia, sydney where I started teaching in a new school, a private girl school called Monte sant angelo mercy college. It is a catholic school. The first days of teaching went very well and it is so different from teaching in a state school or a state school with discipline problem, the pupils here in sydney are polite, enjoy being in lessons, ask questions.... quite unbelievable after what I am normally used to. The pupils are fabulous, the school is quite disorganised though and nobody seems to share work, resources.... more I have not got my own classroom and move from one building to another all the time carrying laptop, data projector, cassettes, books, worksheets..... I have already lost one kilo this week doing that!!! Not good!!!!

My first week was spent between immigration offices, health ones and the school. on my first week end, (last week end) I went to visit many houses and flats with Mark's friends Radar and Alex, cornish friends who live in Manly. we visited many places but none we wanted to move into... I saw two flats to share with others, one was lovely with big bedroom but the man i would have had to share with was a bit strange.... then i visited a big house right next to the ferry in manly and not far from the beach where 3 men live: one is german, the other ozie and one is from finland, quite a mixed nationality. I loved the house instantly but they had already 16 people interested for the room, so I thought there will be no chance. they called me the next evening saying that I had been chosen.... I am moving in Manly today with three professional working men..... wish me good luck.....

Since I have arrived , I have not even had time to watch the wave or go in the water, so so hectic when you come to live in a new country......
