Today we went on a wine tasting tour of the Swan Valley. We were on a small bus with a group of people who were on a conference in Perth and were given the day off.
There was an elderly lesbian couple who looked as though they were sucking on lemons and had the conversational skills of a fence post. There was a couple from Townsville in Queensland an Italian Melbourne couple who were expecting a baby, (so wine tasting was a cracking idea!!), a young woman from melbourne and another lady from Sydney.
At the first vineyard the staff were not expecting us so they set up a table outside with 2 botlles of red and white, a bottle of rose and a bottle of port, told us what colour the wine was and please don't fill the glasses. At this point they left us. The lesbians who we found out don't drink went to find some more lemons to suck and fence posts to talk to and the rest of us got to know each other whilst consuming every last bit of liquid in front of us within 30 minutes. By this point we were well on our way.
At the next vineyard it was a bit more controlled and luckily for the pregnant woman there was a chocolate tasting on the other side of the road. We drank as much as we were allowed, brought a case of wine between us and headed of to the next. Pretty much the same happened at the next but we got to eat some food, which was well needed. and then again at another. By this time we were getting roudy, much to the lemon sucking lesbians disgust.
When we got back to the city 6 of us went to a little Korean restaurant where we consumed most of the wine we brought and had a lovley meal. They kindly paid for Daisy and myself as a wedding gift and we promised we would stop in as we travelled past each of there homes.
