Hello again,
Hangzhou was recommended to us by a number of people so we decided to jump on a train and spend a couple of days there. Marco Polo described the place as the most beautiful city in China. We arrived at lunch time and wandered around, grabbed some food (our favourite, you basically pick what you want, meat balls, mushrooms, potato etc and they chuck it in a pot and then put spices etc in there).
That night we walked along a bit of the lake taking some amazing photos, it's the same lake which inspired all the pictures you see on china crockery over the last few hundred years and the main reason we came, quite a romantic evening really even if I do say so myself.
The next day we woke up and hired bicycles to ride around the lake, I wouldn't be caught dead riding one in England! Anyway we got some lunch and decided it would be better to walk the lake and returned the bikes we had for 2hrs all for the fee of 10p.
That night we met up with our friend Sebastian again for some Chinese beer. The next day we went out to the lake to take a couple more pictures before we got back on the train to Shanghai.
