So we have just come to the end of our trip in Nepal. After leaving the jungle we went to Nagarkot for some last views of the Himalayas. You are meant to get fantastic sunrise views from here unfortunately it was pretty cloudy when arrived and the next day (after getting up at 6 to look out the window at clouds) but luckily the day after we were able to watch the sunrise with a load of Japanese tourists who cheered when the sun came up it was a nice feeling. We then went down a very twisty road to Bhaktapur which is an ancient Newar town. Mark made a pal with a kid who then ditched him after he gave him a pound; Mark was a bit upset. The town was pretty nice with lots of nice architecture and some nice statues; also some rudey wood struts.
We then went back up the hill for another night at Nagarkot and again the next morning was cloudy; so we were pretty lucky to have one days view, some people only stay one night and would just see clouds; losers!
We returned to Kathmandu which you forget just how manic it is. We stayed at a nice hotel who fed us a Thanksgiving Dinner (the owners are American) with turkey and mashed potato; amazing.
We had a few days wandering around Kathmandu and went to Patan and the particularly good museum there. Mark bought a chess set and Jane bought a trumpet.
We also watched hot tub time machine and red; both of which we would recommend.
After nearly a month in Nepal its onward to India.
