Today we went on a visit to Nijo Castle which was a Shogun castle, it had beautiful screen paintings and amazing squeaky floors which were made like this so that if Ninjas tried to sneak in then the floors would creak; genius. Had a nice walk around the gardens of the castle. We then went to the Manga Museum just a short walk away, which has walls and walls of Manga comics and also gave some good info about the history of Manga, we made our own manga characters and then got a picture of ourselves in Manga style.
We then went to the Geisha areas and went Geisha hunting; unfortunately we didnt see any real ones just a few tourists dressed up like them. It was pretty hot work so we rewarded ourselves with green tea ice cream yum yum. We also went and made some pottery for ourselves, we made some green tea mugs, Mark says his is better than Janes but we will see when we get the finished product.
We went and some cakes and saw a lookilike of JANE!!!!!!!
Also found and went to Fat Marks Bar for a couple of drinks (great gin and tonics!)everyone should go here. Ironically the bar is not named after or run by anyone called Mark but it was a great place non the less. Apparently it is called Fat Marks because fat means prosperous and the name Mark means good person (honest thats what we were told).
