friday 10
back to sydney for a day before the "Big" performance at the opera house!! WOOOHHOOOO! cant wait. we tried our luck at the casino !! $50 bucks didnt take us very far we can tell you! so we mooched on back to the old faithful Alfred park!
Sat we took the government House in and the tempting tastes of the Rocks market under the Harbour Bridge! YUMM chilli chocolate was great .. we bought some for you all ! but you know....
The concert was phenomenal really difficult to put into words. We thought of the band playing at the 40's night .We would be listening too at the same time ... almost just in different ends of the globe!
we managed to cal a couple of you so you could here what we could!! the concert hall and the atmosphere was enthralling and to be fair ebay did us justice!! we had the best seats in town. really good views of the stage and could actually see the performers! Mark loitered outside the stage door in the hope the James Morrison would sign his new book but no show!!
what a day well worth the wait and the tickets - we skipped home!
Sunday 12
we hit Bondi - it was the City to surf run and seemed worth a shot .There were thousands of runners bits like the race for life set up. heaving with people, sweaty runners, lost children, loud speaker, barbeques and a couple of bums with there great big back packs on. We had to take them with us as we were heading on to manly!! but no where to put them so we used them as very large pillows on the beach!!
Manly was leisurely - a lot of mooching / bimbling as we like to call it! oh and a new pair of shorts for me! its amazing how many times you can wear the same things! the life span of our clothes are diminishing and our existing clothes span are reducing by the minute!
the weather was a bit dreary and the winter still showing so we tucked up in a pub , as best we know how! me .. with a coffee actually (Told you it was cold) and mark with a yep you guessed it! a GUINNESS. The following day we walked to Shelly beach .You could still see Harbour bridge in the distance!
Again i tell mark on the way back on the ferry how we cant miss the opportunity to have Doyles fish and chips! by watson Bay .Its a must before we leave sydney! we have tried a few times but plans are forever changing so now we will go on thurs our last chance!!
14-17 aug
Our next few days we get to spend with Andy and Jenny andthe kids! Andy very generously picked us up from sydney and thenwe headed back to the Yules! if you get to visit youll know the house - stamped by the original letter box! an old Euphonium!! very creative.
Great to catch up with the family. Our welcoming ...a very excitable young Lab..goes by the name of Summer!!! but she has the energy of all for seasons to be honest! she loved mark.. to the point where if it wasnt for the species difference i might have been worried!!
Jen had cooked skippy!! well maybe a friend /relly ..NOT the real one!It was good , really tasty. And we suddenly realised that we were indeed definately carnivores. ... just recently posing as veggies! more budget than want!A few glasses of vino consumed and a good catch up in order. A great welcome.
Had a lazy day on the wed - which to be honest was great! nothing like home comforts once in a while and in the eveining we dined out .. again thankyou xx Mark joined andy at a band rehearsal while us girls .. not forgetting you callum! gassed.
We made tracks on friday, a seen if you remember from the littlest hobo!! we waved our goodbyes and "we just keep moving on"!!
We finally make it Doyles before heading to Melbourne - And it was DEFINATELY worth the wait! the stuffed prawns with spinach, pinenuts and pesto were as good as i remember and we had the best fish .It was a friday anniversary day!
The train was long 12 trip !! we couldnt get comfy at all and unfortunately the man next to us smelled much worse than we did im sure!!
