Mark & Robyn's Travels
Today was spent just getting back to London so we could prepare for our flight to Verona, Italy. Our flight leaves tomorrow morning at 6:50, as such we have a room at the Hampton Inn which is connected to Gatwick North Terminal. When we got up this morning, there was no rain, mist, or fog and the view of the castle was quite clear. Of course it is we are leaving so the weather turns nice.
Anyway we had a good taxi ride to the airport, I usually enjoy the cabbies in England and this one was no different. We have never had one that was rude, some do not want to talk so we don't, but many like to talk and find out where you're from and where you are traveling to. The flight left a little late and then we had to circle Gatwick a bit because of weather. After we landed, because of terminal construction at the South Terminal, we had to be bussed to the North Terminal by the time we got our bags and checked into the Hampton it was after 2:30. We decided to just plan our days in Verona, print off all the train tickets for our new travel plans, and continue reading about the potential strikes in France. Our room at the hotel is small, in fact I think it is about the size of the birthing room at Edinburgh Castle that Mary Queen of Scots used.
We did take advantage of British Air's policy to let us check our bags tonight so we don't have to do it tomorrow morning. We can just go directly to security.
We at dinner in the airport at restaurant call Nicholas Culpepper, it didn't suck. The burger I had was actually decent. Anyway we are calling it an early night since we have an early morning. Tomorrow we have a lot to do when we get to Verona, hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Debby Sounds like Scotland was not much fun. I'm sure you will have better weather in Italy. Hope you don't have to do the 12 hour train ride to get to Lyon. I'll watch the news and see what happens.
Debby Why isn't Robyn in any pictures? Did you ditch her somewhere and you are making us believe she is on the trip with you???? Very interesting.
mark_robyn Who/s Robyn?
