Still in Botswana, and Chobe National Park - now this really is the place to see elephants en masse, and crocodiles galore. Chobe is situated on the river that separates Namibia & Botswana, and the birds and wildlife are abundant in a more concentrated space, as this park is alot smaller than most others. We did another dawn game drive, this getting up at 5am malarkey just isn't funny, but the things you get to see are really well worth it! On the way to the park saw a really sad image of an elephant wading through trash at a rubbish dump, but the park is beautiful. I've always thought crocodiles were a dark murky green colour, but the ones here are almost yellow with bright green patches - something to do with the cleanliness of the water. Whilst on the drive my heart literally stopped as the safari truck had gotten in the path of an elephant in 'must', and the evidence was clear to see that he was excited - if you know what I mean? But he started snorting, and came right up to the truck, I thought he was going to charge - I certainly got some great photos, but they may be a bit shakey though.
Another sunset cruise (of which I will never get bored) brought yet more elephants, hippos, crocs, and buffalo. This time a line of 5 elephants decided to cross the river, right in front of our boat, it was ace. They held each others tales with their trunks, like in all the cartoons, but just before they reached the other side, they decided to have a play around, literally mounting each other, and play fighting - again I have some great photos.
