Kia Orana from Aitutaki, we've had a bit of trouble trying to upload photos and also updating the map, so sorry about that. We had a lovely flight from Raro to Aitutaki on a very small plane (about 16 seats) to quote one passenger - "Air Rarotonga, where every seat's a window seat"! After about 45 minutes we had an amazing view of the atoll as we came in to land. The lagoon was an unbelievable shade of turquoise. Our accommodation is fabulous, right on the beach. Tony went straight off and hired a scooter and rode off to buy some provisions - (beer and crisps!) and after a quick snorkelling session we had a ride round the island. Very basic, people just going about their everyday lives, which was lovely to see. Everyone was very friendly and waved to us as we rode along. The island was badly damaged by a cyclone a few years ago and there is still evidence of it everywhere. We had a lovely meal and rode home under another fabulous starry sky, with nature's own son et lumbered display going on all around us, but again, no thunder and no rain. yesterday we went on a boat trip all around the lagoon, fantastic snorkelling - a bit like swimming in an aquarium - and a wonderful BBQ lunch for the 8 of us an an uninhibited island. Got back to discover that what we thought at first was a pair of giant lobsters were actually my legs, which were burned bright red form all the time spent snorkelling during the trip - ouch! Today we've had a quiet and relaxing day and tomorrow we head back to Raro. Bye for now xx
