4th day. We were finally met by the morning sun and a hint of warming. Ashot was already waiting for us in the car and having had a quick breakfast, we headed to the South, towards the Turkish border to the monastery of Khor Virap which is famous for the fact that it offers a view of Ararat Mountain which is located nearby. Although, contrary to other members of our group, I didn`t got into the six-meter depth prison, preferring to bask in the sun, riding the fortress wall and making a few panoramic photos of Ararat valley and Araks. The weather continued to please us and we went, climbing higher and higher into the mountains to Noravank monastery complex (13th c.), best known for the fact that it is surrounded by unique giant red-and-pink rocks. One can find lots of photos of this place, but unfortunately, they do not convey a dizzying scale of the place. Another feature of the monastery is a stone carving decorating all of the architectural structures, - it is very careful, wondering by its beauty and tremendous workload. There much less people there than in Khor Virap and one can enjoy not only the beauty of nature, but also a clear peace of this wonderful place.
