From Thailand we went South to Malaysia, to an island called Penang. It was a strange little place with very little going for it! It was neither a local town or somewhere for tourists, it was stuck somewhere in between and therefore not the most exciting of places. We arrived in the evening, got a hotel and went to get some food. We had a bit of a walk around to see if there were any signs of life but nothing!
The next day we got up early to do some sight seeing, we went to a fort, which was small and unimpressive! Next we went to the museum which was actually one of the better ones we've been to and then we went to the Lavender Mansion which was great.
We were heading to the Perhinthians next so decided to look into how to get there. We found a bus company that left at 9 o'clock in the evening and tried to get on the bus for that night but unfortunately it was full so we ended up stuck there for another 24 hours! That evening we heard about the earthquakes in Indonesia and that Malaysia was on a tsunami warning, we were a little worried but there wasn't really a great deal we could do. Plus the locals didn't seem to be in too much of a panic.
The next day we went to a chocolate boutique which was probably the best thing in Penang as we got to eat loads of free chocolate!! We did a bit of shopping before setting off to the bus station in the evening. I have no photo's of Penang as there wasn't anything worth taking picture of!!
