Hong Kong was amazing and I was lucky enough to be adopted by two English people who were there on business. The first night I got there I stated in a horrible hostel, there wasn't really many people staying there and I thought I was going to spend the next 5 days on my own so I decided to move to another hostel in the hope that I would meet more people. The following day I went over to Hong Kong island to explore. I had a wonder around the shops, went to the botanic gardens and then went up to the peak. Whilst I was at the top of the peak I met Damian and Victoria. I got chatting to them and went for a coffee with them, they told me they were going to a seafood buffet that night near my hostel and invited me to come. I was a little reluctant as I new it was going to be expensive but decided I might as well make the most of my time there so arranged to meet up with later. The buffet was amazing and Damian wouldn't let me pay. We then went to a bar at the top of the Peninsula hotel and Damian ordered a bottle of champagne, again he wouldn't let me pay for anything. We went to another bar near their hotel and as it was about 3 am Vic said I could stay in her hotel room with her rather than go back to my hostel on my own at that time. Their hotel seemed like pure luxury compared to the places I had been staying over the last few moths, it was so nice to have a proper shower and a comfortable bed!
The next day they had to go to an exhibition so I went back to my hostel to change and get my stuff as Vic said I could have the key to her room and go back there to get ready to go out that evening. It was so nice just to lounge around in the room, watch TV and get ready. She even had a hair dryer and straighteners, it was the first time in months that I had straight hair! I know it seems silly that I could get so excited about straight hair but after so long of having to let it dry naturally I felt like a different person! We went out for a meal up at the peak that evening and then went out for a few drinks. Again I ended up staying in Vic's room.
The next day I went off to see Aberdeen, a place where people live on boats and there are floating restaurants. I later met up with Vic and Damian in Time Square before heading back to the hotel to get ready and go for a meal. the next day I went back to the hostel and checked out and took all my stuff back to Vic's hotel room. We went out again for a nice meal that night and had an early night. All the late nights and drinking had finally caught up with us all! We went for breakfast the following morning before Vic and Damian went off to the exhibition for the final day, which meant I had to say goodbye to them as I was flying out to Australia that afternoon. They had been so good to me I felt sad to leave them. I decided to get them a card and print out a picture of the three of us to say thank you for the way they looked after me.
