We set off for Darwin with the first few Km having heavy fog it was a bit nerve racking knowing a lot of people had crashed into cattle, but thankfully it cleared up after a while. After a 12 hour drive through pretty much all bush, going past huge termite mounds and lots of cows we made it to Kanunurra. We found a backpackers and just chilled there for the night.
We woke up and decided to have a look around starting with Kelly's k*** look out which looks over the whole of Kununurra, it was absolutely stunning (picture on my facebook). We then went on to the Hidden Valley Miriam National Park which was beautiful, it reminded me a bit of Brice Canyon in America. We then went to have a look in a local jewellers as Kununurra is famous for its pink diamonds....well the price was unreal! Tens of thousands for the tiniest diamonds you have ever seen, ill treat myself when I'm a millionaire! They were saying how people fly from all over the world just to go to that Jewellers. One day eh!
Time to hit the road again and stop off at Lake Argyle on our way to our next destination! Lake Argyle was stunning and well worth the 150km round trip detour. There was a campsite which had an infinity pool looking over the Lake, if you can call it that, it was huge...so of course we snuck in! Breathtaking, pictures to follow.
We stopped in a campsite at Timber Creek which was in the middle of nowhere and so dodges! Aboriginals just hanging outside which was really intimidating. We headed over to the tiny bar had a few and decided to hit the hay!
The final stretch begins, the sites on the way so unbelievable I couldn't stop looking around me, we even past a fire which had started in the middle of nowhere, so surreal passing that. I'm so glad I decided to go with Simon driving rather than flying!
2000Km complete we arrived in Darwin!
