Tuesday 11 March
Left Airlie Beach at Midnight, travelled through the night to a small town called 1770. I heard about this from the guys at Whitsundays so thought I'd give it a shot. Arrived at Cool Banana's at about 10.30am, we got a little bus tour around the town. 1770 has 110 houses, and approximately 80 permanent residents. There is a house with some amazing views, but nothing more than a shack really, that is worth $2million!!!!! Later that day I had the most exhilirating ride ever! I drove a chopper! Which is like a motorbike/ moped (sorry mum) but it was so amazing. There was about 20 of us following our bike leader Ron (Biker old man with a long grey beard and tatoos) and we reached speeds of about 80kmph. It was so good. I was singing on top of my voice coz no body could hear me, had my funky helmet and sunglasses on, and would occasionally scream! We saw some kangaroos and wallabies. Took amazing sunset pictures and got back to the hostel about 7pm. Had an early night's sleep.
