Week 1- VAN HUNTING.
Arrived on Monday 30th July with no organised accommodation as such. Managed to get hold of Harriet freeth who kindly lent us her couches for 3 nights. Sleeping was awful, waking up every two hours and then finally waking up at 5am wide awake!
On Tuesday we sorted out phones and began the big van hunt. We went to see one awful rust bucket which wouldn't have made it to Dover let alone over any alps. We also did a wee tiki tour of London, getting Liam Sussed on the tube. Had lunch by the Tower of London and then wandered Camden markets (also where we looked at the van) for a couple of hours.
On Wednesday we took the train to Spalding to meet a couple about potential work when we get back to the uk. No full time work with them as such but will be keeping in touch with them re: part time work possibly. They had a very beautiful property and john is a large scale arable farmer growing wheat, pumpkin, canola and sugar beet on multiple properties around the area.
Thursday we decided we had outstayed our welcome, so while Liam went van hunting, Margot went hotel hunting. The van "rocky" was prefect for the adventure so liam said he would buy it, but needed to produce the money. After going to an ATM machine and finding out the daily limit is £300/day rocky had to be let go to the next buyer. Margot managed to find a cheap hotel on a late deals website in earls court so a million stairs later with no lift we were happily housed. We wandered the streets for a look before deciding to have a 'brainstorming session' in a nice wee pub. Ended up having a meal at The Little French Restaurant - 3 courses actually and they were bloody good. We fell for their 'deal', though. Cute wee first date though.....
Jet lag still hanging around, get really tired in the afternoons but it's getting later and later as we get more adjusted.

Kelly Herbert Even though it's been 25 years I can still smell and feel London when you talk bout it. Great memories.
