To summarize into 3 words my 2 days spent in London:
TENNIS! TENNIS! TENNIS!
Stood in line (or "The Queue", which is the official name of the line of thousands of people who wait to get a same-day general admission tkt into the Wimbledon tournament) and got in to see lots of world class tennis action 2 days in a row (Tuesday & Wednesday).
Didn't get to see the marquee names like Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova or Venus & Serena Williams. But saw lots of other elite players up close & personal in action during match play: Svetlana Kuznetsova (winner of the French Open last month in Paris), Amelie Mauresmo (Wimbledon champion several years ago), Bob & Mike Bryan, Guillermo Canas, Shahar Peer, Nadia Petrova, Nicole Vaidisova, and several other lesser known female Russian & Eastern European "ovas" who have recently flooded the womens professional tennis tour. And I spotted Boris "Boom-Boom" Becker doing a TV interview for the BBC.
Love tennis so much that I could stand in line every day for the next 10 days of the tournament to get in and watch. But, an airline ticket to South Africa awaits, and it's time to move on.
Anyone who is a tennis nut should make a trip to "The Championships at Wimbledon" once in their lifetime to watch the tournament. I guarantee -- you will not be disappointed. The entire experience was well worth it.
