Today is our last day in Prague, we're headed to Dresden, Germany this evening! It's been a blast the last 5 days. Most people don't stay in Prague that long, as you can sightsee the city in a day if you wanted, but since it's low season, our hostel was offering a deal. Pay for 4 nights, get the 5th night free. That was a great deal to us!
We spent about 3 days wandering the old town and castle districts, and thoroughly enjoyed getting lost in the narrow, cobbled streets. Prague Castle was fantastic, much better than I remembered from 5 years ago. We were also blessed with some sunny days, finally! The food and drink has also been amazing, and we've enjoyed every bit of it.
As a side trip, we went to Kunta Hora one day, just an hour outside of Prague by train. The main attraction there is the bone church, or the Sedlec Ossuary. There are thousands of human bones and skulls that were used to decorate the church. We've got lots of interesting, if slightly disturbing, pictures from there!
Our next stop is Eastern Germany, to visit my friends Rob and Lydia, with whom we'll be crashing with. They live in Halle, so it will be very easy to visit Leipzig, Weimar, and Wittenberg. Since we have a little over a week in Germany, we're also thinking of going even further up north to Hamburg. Of course, we'll leave plenty of time at the end for Berlin, before we fly out on the 7th. Neither one of us can believe how fast this trip has gone, and are getting sad for it to end! More from Germany...
