After a good 24 hours of flying and airports we have finally arrived in South America!! Im super excited - this has been in planning for 6+ months (and on my bucket list for a very long time). Upon our arrival at Lima Airport there was all sorts of trumpeting and cheering happening - for the Columbian football team who had just arrived for tonight's match against Peru. Looking forward to exploring the city once the sun rises today and learning about Peruvian cuisine at our cooking course tonight (and perhaps partaking in some football viewing with the locals)! Hopefully I'll adjust to the time zone difference shortly - it's boring at 3 am! At least breakfast starts at 6 am.....hmm must be dinner time in Oz.

Oh and I must not forget the food experiences....had a hotel meal tonight with a pisco sour. Meal was <$15 and I thought superb. A coriander, bell pepper rice with this lovely duck breast and leg cooked two ways. Jay had a lovely seafood paella type dish that she enjoyed a great deal. So far thumbs up for the food!! If tonight's hotel meal is anything to go by then we have some bumper feasts to look forward to ;)!!!
