Nice 'late' start today diddnt have to be on the bus till 9am :O we jumped on the bus and just before our first stop we were pulled over by the police who proceeded to check everyones passports for some random reason :/waste if time but hey at least they seemed to be doing their job. A bit more driving and we stopped in Dresden which is aparently famous as it was absoloutly flatttened during WWII and had to be rebuilt after the war, we were only here for a lunch stop so a load of us went into an australian restaurant to get some steak nom nom! We arrived in Berlin a little later on the evening so there wouldnt be a whole lot to do tonight just have our dinner thats included and have a bit of a wander before goinf to sleep. This hostelwas huuge and amazing it was situated in an old school building which circleda courtyard in the middle, there was a pool and a sauna and the dining room thing where we had dinner was huuge and doubled as a bar snazzy the dinner was nice and our bedroom was massive myself, claire and laurel shared a room we had our own massive en suite and a tv oooh.
The next morning we were all going to meet for another walking tour on our way to get the train tho two people had forgot to get there tickets so a group of like 7 of us waited while they got there tickets, unfortunately because of this we all lost the group and missed the train oopsie we had nooo idea where they were meeting for the walking tour :p this is where bruce took over and decided that the tour would probebly go to the parliament house so we headed in tht direction. Once we got here we had out own alternativehistory tour which obviously was more fun stating that this building infact used to have a balcony but hitler did a sleech on there so the pulled down the balcony and a few years later the rolling stones played on these steps to 152,000 people to celebrate the freedom of the jewish people :p we then walked through the gates of justice which i actually cant remember the actual name of as gates of justice is just more memorable :p and as if by magic we walked through the gates and straight into the tour group and at the start of their tour :p we met right in front of the hotel where michael jackson hung his baby off the balcony how fitting. Anyhow we joined on the tour and went to a holoucaust memorial, we stood in the exact point that hitlers bunker was which is where he killed himself in the end theres no memorial tho as the germans diddnt want anything to remember him by. We saw some parts of the berlin wall which had been half chipped away aparently tourists had been taking bits of it but thu had to fence it off cos it was full of aspestos haha. After our tour we diddnt do a whole lot we were all still really ill which sucked ass. We mooched back tl the hostel stopping at the west side gallery on the way to look at all of the graffiti on the berlin wall which was awsome i also got my passport stanled here yey for checkpoint charlie :) on the night i had planned to meet up with my friend daniel who had recently moved to berlin and strangely enough had just managed to bag himself a job that day so we had tl go celebrate, once id had a sleep cos i felt like s***! I headed on down to the train station to meet him 40 mins lf waiting later i got a phone from my friend in redcar saying that Daniel was in my hostel on the internet i guess there was another exit to the train station :p we finally met up anyhow and had a quick pint in the hostel bar before heading out to try and find a bar to drink in. We found a bar clearly a gay bar that was a kareoke thing called the gayhole i think we had a good few becvies, not enough to get up and sing tho and i had to call it a night at about 1am as i felt like s*** and we were heading out at like 8am to go to amsterdam, i wasnt sleeping on the bed tonight tho as i was covered in a random rash so i was allergic to the detergant on the bed or there were bed bugs tonight would mark the last night i could actually smoke i think i was dying and none of the drugs i had helped :(
