Unfortunately when we looked out the window first thing in the morning the weather didn't look too hot, we had decided to have a longer lie to hope that it had cleared but no luck. We headed up to the lounge to check out the breakfast offerings and again we were not disappointed. We grazed while doing the blog and by the time we had done it looked like it may at least stop raining.
The plan was to get on the hop on hop off bus so we headed to the nearest stop and waited in the rain with our hotel umbrella for the bus to arrive. Thankfully when it did arrive, it wasn’t an open top bus like you normally get! For the first part of the tour we couldn’t really see out of the windows and it was too wet to get off and explore, so we may have missed some sights and the photos were hard to come by.
As we approached the Bukit Bintang area, the rain eased off so we hopped off to explore the shops, this area was also marked as a street food area. We headed for the street food area called Jalan Alor but it was definitely not for us. It was very dirty, loud and smelly so we headed back to the safety of the shopping centre and ate lunch in a mall. We chose a Japanese restaurant and really enjoyed it other than the iced green tea which was horrific.
We hopped back on the bus and spent the rest of the afternoon taking photos from the bus as we were given a running commentary about each area we were approaching. We decided not to hop off again as to say most of the areas were a little rough around the edges is an understatement, however we enjoyed our day.
The evening was again spent in the lounge devouring all the complimentary drinks and snacks before headed down to the lobby bar for a cocktail.

Mum Think Jen might find this even more challenging than Abu Dhabi for driving - in fact it makes Abu Dhabi look like the Outer Hebrides, or somewhere equally as rural !!
