My parents had flight back to Finland on 16th of Jan and we (I, Pete & Hanna) decided to stay one more night in Krabi because we wanted to go to Koh Phi Phi and the ferry leaves on early morning. On our last day in Krabi we said goodbye to my parents and then rented scooters. First we drove to Shell Cemetery and we were the only tourists there. There was all different kind of souvenirs that you can imagine made from shells. Then we went to some kind of fish farm and we saw different small fishes, sea horses, sea turtle, sharks and one massive fish (over 50kilos). After that we checked Ao Nam Mao´s harbor and then we went to the local market. They sold same kind of s*** than in every tourist places but it was much cheaper. On our last night in Krabi we ate pizza for dinner and it was nice to eat western food.
Our boat to Koh Phi Phi left after 9am and we arrived to Phi Phi before 11am. We were a bit worried to find an accommodation because Phi Phi is very popular among the young travelers. We decided to stay our first night close to the "centre" and we found very basic quest house. First we went to eat lunch in main beach (Dalam) and then we chilled couples of hours on the beach. We climbed to a viewpoint (350m) to watch a sunset. It was very good exercise and there was nice view over Phi Phi Don. Later we went to eat and drink. There was nice fire show on the beach.
We took a long tail boat to the Long Beach on our second day. It wasn´t so touristic and there was very beautiful beach. We found very nice bungalow in top of the hill and we stayed there for two nights. It was always hard work to climb up but the view and our bungalow was worth of any drop of sweat. On one day we rented a long tail boat and we went to see Phi Phi Leh. It is famous because of the film The Beach. Island is surrounded by huge wall of limestone cliffs. We went to beautiful lagoon (Pileh) and we snorkeled there in crystal clear water. We had opportunity to go to the Maya Beach but we didn´t want to go there when we saw all those speed- and long tail boats. Maya Beach was packed with people. Our long tail driver drove us to the 50 meters long beach and we were only ones when we arrived there. It was really nice beach and we stayed there for a while. Finally we rounded the whole Island and we also snorkeled in on more spot.
I liked Phi Phi because you can do many things there. If you want to go out and get hammered, you should stay close to the "centre". There is good party atmosphere and you can have some buckets and meet other travelers. You can also chill out in quiet places. The Island is quite big and there are some beaches where you can go only by boat. We stayed three nights in Koh Phi Phi and after that Pete & Hanna went to Koh Lanta and I went first to Krabi Town and then I took night bus to Bangkok. It was nice to stay with Pete & Hanna over one week because they are so easy going, they didn´t complain and they didn´t fight at all even though they are a couple :). They had connection flight from Krabi to Bangkok on 23rd of Jan and we decided to meet up there again.
