Nicaraguan and Costa Rican border is very busy. I took a local bus from San Juan to the border and it took less than two hours. Then I spend four hours in border checking and that wasn't so funny. I arrived to San Jose on Wednesday evening and met my friend Annemari. Annemari was staying in the same dorm with an Australian dude Ernesto who I met earlier in El Salvador. We went out and my night didn't end up so well. I guess that someone put something in my drink because I didn't drank so much but still I got totally blackout and felt very sick when we got back to our hostel. Next day was awful and I went outside just to change money.
On Saturday morning I went to airport at 5am. I was supposed to take a flight at 7:30 but it didn't go well. They said that I need a visa to enter to States. W.T.F!!!! I didn't need any visa when I entered to States on December. I had to fill one form in Internet and they said in check-in that it takes at least 48-hours. I was totally pissed off and went back to my hostel. I filled that visa application and dadaa, I got it right away. I called to airline and I got new flight for same day.
Few hours later I went again to airport and saw that my second flight was late for two hours. That meant that I will miss my connection flight to NY and I have to spend my night in Charlotte airport. That also meant that I missed my party in NY but I didn't care. I just wanted to go Iceland as soon as possible. I got my flight from Charlotte to NY on Sunday morning and I had to wait eight hours in JFK airport before my flight to Reykjavik.
I finally arrived to Reykjavik on Monday (1st of Feb) morning and I was very happy and tired. I met Ebba in bus station and then we went to our new flat. I took my first week very easy. I organized some practical things and met my friends.
I really enjoyed my trip and I also realized that my time in Central America was too less to see places. You need at least a month in every country to get known with the places and meet people. Central America was much safer than I thought. I didn't face any problems and I guess that I was very lucky. I heard so many stories about robberies, abuses and scams. I definitely want to go again to Central America but next time I want to stay longer time in one place…
