Today we woke up super early to get lots of sight seeing done since it was our last day in the city and we didnt want to waste time just staying inside.
We first went straight to Barcelona Pavilion after breakfast, and it was amazing. And small. We got in for a discount and were able to see the inside of the house and we took lots and lots of pictures. It was great to have seen it and be able to be inside, especially havin gonly read it and seen it in books. We then headed to La Rambla street, a street famous in Barcelona where it had a bunch of eateries and shopping. We stopped by to peek around and got lots of souviners, which was nice. At this point, we were hungry, and a friend of mine suggest a good Mexican place, so it was around the area and we decided to check it out. Before checking out the restaurant, I wanted to find a place to print out our Sagrada Familia passes, and luckily, on our way to the restaurant, there was a printing place, so I was able to print out our tickets.
We got to Rosa Negro and ordered a good meal for under ten euros. It was pretty good Mexican food, despite having seen a cockroach on the table. Rasam and Noelle made fun of me since I freaked out after seeing one (and I still dont know how they were okay with it). But despite all that happening, the food was pretty good. And we got a lot of it for a great price. We got flautas, chicken fajitas, beer and cheesecake (which was a bit dry). But it was good.
After lunch, we then headed off to see Sagrada Familia, where I almost died of the heat. The rush to get there plus the metro ride of being smothered by people and the heat almost gave me a heat stroke. It was pretty bad. But once we got there and I got some fresh air, I was okay. I survived. And the church was amazing. It was beautiful in the inside and it was even better when we went up in the towers and got a view of the city. Afterwards we went to browse and look at things in the gift shop and then left to rest for a bit at our hostel.
About 10pm we left for Barceloneta: the popular area where a bunch of beach bars are located. We found a place on the beach, like a hut to have some food and drinks. It was called Blue Beach bar. Despite it being a bit pricey, it was pretty good food. I enjoyed afterward sitting in the sands of the Barcelona beach and just looking into the distance. The water was still and it felt really good in the humidity. We all were pretty drained from the day, so we headed back to our hostel, packed and got ready for the train ride to Paris the next day.
