London, UK
So far i've been in London for a week and its been great! This past Friday, we had a class excursion to Dover. The trip started out at 8 in the morning on the bus with a stop at Canterbury to see the cathedral. After that we went directly to Dover which is located on the coast, southeast from London. It was a very beautiful city and i enjoyed it very much. We first went to the beach where instead of there being sand there were rocks. It was very pretty and we could see the white cliffs to our left, and to the front France was very visible too. The weather was very warm and unfortunatly i had dressed for cold weather, but I was able to manage in the end. We then went to walk around and get some lunch before we would go to the beautiful Dover Castle. Once we got there the first place we went to was the Secret War Tunnels. There we watched a video and then got a tour of the actual tunnels that the soilders lived and worked in during WWII. I thought it was very interesting and i learned a lot. After the tour we where able to go off on our own and explore the castle. There were not too many people around so we were able to see everything without waiting in line or it being too crowded. My favorite part was climbing up the stairs which seemed to never end, to finally get to the top of the castle. The view was amazing! We were able to see all of Dover, the ocean, and even France again! It was really worth climbing all those stairs. After a million pictures and walking for what seemed like forever, our trip ended and we head back to Regents College. I thought the trip was really fun and i am glad that we were able to see and do everything we did.
