Arriving in Cancun was quite different from what we had imagined. We lived at the tourist zone, which was extremely touristy. There was practically no beach left because of all the huge hotels built on the beach. Most of the hotels were all-inclusive hotels. We met up with Kim and Christian, who lived in one of those hotels. They had a great time there in luxury.

We went on a daytrip with Kim and Christian to Chichen Itza to see the famous ruins. We walked a thousand miles it seemed. We had a stop in one of the cenotes where Kim and Christian had a swim in these underwater caves. The water was a bit too cold for us.

Kim and Christian drove us to our next stop, Tulum.
